That’s the best headline I will ever write in my life. Pick out my coffin now. We haven’t heard much from The Hills villains Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag in a while. A few years ago, these two idiots were all over the tabloids, whether it was for Heidi’s atrocious plastic surgery or Spencer’s insane 9-11 conspiracy theories. And then, near the end of last year, they went quiet. What happened?
Well, a recent interview with Heidi reveals that they basically spent all of their money. Not terribly surprising, because that’s what rich Hollywood idiots do, but what’s hilarious is the reason why. The couple did an interview with OK! Magazine in the U.K. that delivered this awesome nugget from Spencer.
“We made and spent at least 10 million dollars. The thing is, we heard that the planet was going to end in 2012. We thought, we have got to spend this money before the asteroid hits.”
Well, there we go. I always wondered who was actually dumb enough to believe the whole Mayan calendar end of the world thing, and now we know: Spencer Pratt is dumb enough. He admits to spending over $10 million in just a few years, frequently giving valets triple-digit tips, buying cars for friends and generally pissing it away as easily as he earned it. Thankfully, though, it looks like he learned a lesson from the whole ordeal.
“Here's some advice, definitely do not spend your money thinking asteroids are coming. But the world didn't end.”
Okay, duly noted. Pratt and Montag just finished a stint on the UK’s version of Celebrity Big Brother where they came in second place. They’ve also sold their house and moved in with Spencer’s father as they plan their next move. When’s the next apocalypse supposed to happen?
