The history of video games, via the rap songs that sampled them Dec 4th 2012, 20:00 Time for yet another video game related history lesson, but this one is guided by hip hop. Yesterday I passed along a sample-heavy, audio history lesson that covered just Nintendo. Today’s kind of the same, but kind of different; it’s a survey of all the instances in which rappers have mixed game audio with their rhymes. Surely more is out there than what’s accounted for, but SPIN did a pretty damn job covering their bases… So what’s the big take away here? More folks need to sample Chrono Trigger.
