With Apple’s magic television on the horizon, tech bloggers need to have some magical unicorn of a product from Apple to get excited about. And apparently they have settled on Apple putting out a… watch?

It’s not entirely without precedent: “smart” watches have been incredibly popular on Kickstarter, with devices such as the Pebble racking up millions of dollars in preorders. So it’s not out of the realm of reality that Apple is considering the market.
The device wouldn’t be an iPhone on your wrist, but pair with your phone, like other smart watches. The key difference is the iWatch would supposedly allow you to take calls and use Siri without taking your phone out of your pocket. Technologically, this isn’t difficult, but it would sure catch people’s attention.
The main problem is that, well, this isn’t particularly revolutionary, and Apple only gets into markets it thinks it can revolutionize, or at least corner. So it’s good to be skeptical that this is really on the way, especially in the first half of next year.
But, hey, it’d sure be nice to have.
