Don’t call it a comeback! Actually, go ahead. That’s exactly what it is. Redhook Brewery is once again bringing back Double Black Stout for another limited-release.

Much like yesterday’s Drunken Donuts, Double Black Stout is a perfect excuse to drink in the morning. Sure, that’s not it’s actual intention, but the fact that it’s brewed with coffee makes it seem like a logical path to follow. Their tagline is also “so dark no one will know what's in your mug.” It seems great minds think alike. There’s only one reason to disguise your beer, and that’s because you’re drinking it when you aren’t supposed to be.
Unfortunately this one looks to be staying out on the West Coast for now. Maybe if we should loud enough they will put it back into full rotation.
Released under Redhook's Blueline Series, a limited release series brewed specifically for local distribution, Double Black Stout comes in at 7.0% ABV and 40 IBUs. The beer is a robust stout brewed with the generous use of roasted barley, Munich malt and Carafa 3, giving the beer a deep opaque black color. Roasted, chocolate and coffee aromas and flavors round out the beer for a rich, creamy finish.
It’s damn good, so if you have friends out West, have them ship it to you. Or you could always plan a trip to Oregon, because that sounds awesome.
